Dr. Squatch Wants YOU to Take a Bath with Sydney Sweeny
The internet dared them, and they did it. Meet the limited-edition soap made with Sydney’s real bathwater.
The internet is great at curating our feeds, which means your reaction to this headline is probably very telling. Depending on your corner of the web, you may have absolutely no idea that “hot women selling their bathwater” is a real thing, and has been for years. I can tell you, that if you had no idea, we are the same because neither did I.
The most famous example was back in 2019, when internet provocateur Belle Delphine went mega-viral for selling her actual used bathwater in tiny jars labeled “GamerGirl Bath Water” for $30 a pop. And yes, it sold out almost instantly.
She reportedly made over $90,000 from the stunt before PayPal froze her account for violating their terms of service. (They eventually gave her the money. Years later.)
Fast forward to 2025, and we’ve got a new name in the bathwater game: Sydney Sweeney.
Introducing: Sydney’s Bathwater Bliss
Sydney Sweeney, best known for her roles in Euphoria and The White Lotus, has teamed up with Dr. Squatch to launch a limited-edition bar soap called “Sydney’s Bathwater Bliss.” The scent? Morning wood. How fitting.
And yes, according to the brand, it’s actually infused with her real bathwater.
According to cosmetic chemist, Javon Ford, because it’s soap and not technically a cosmetic, they can get away with a wacky ingredient list that doesn’t fit the traditional INCI (International Nomenclature Cosmetic Ingredient) list standard. Apparently because soaps in the US don’t even have to have an ingredient list if they don’t want to, so including the non-regulated “Sydney’s Bathwater” as an ingredient is A-Okay with the US government.
But a question you might have is why are they doing this? Great question. I wondered myself.
According to Dr. Squatch’s official Instagram: “Because y’all wouldn’t stop asking.”
I mean, it might be true. Sydney has appeared in Dr. Squatch ads before, and was filmed in a bathtub. Maybe the internet ran with that and made it a thing. Stranger things have gone viral.
Reactions: Disgust, Delight, and a Bit of “What the Hell?”
As you might imagine, the response to this collab has been a wild mix of confusion, amusement, and mild horror. Some people think it’s hilarious. Others are side-eying the whole situation. But one thing’s for sure: it got people talking.
Even Sydney herself leaned into the weirdness in a recent GQ interview:
“My hope is that it just gets guys to think about taking care of themselves and cleaning themselves with some healthy products.”
My translation?
“If it takes me putting my bathwater in soap for you to clean your stinky ass, so be it.”
Limited Run, Maximum Novelty
If you’re somehow actually interested in buying this soap (no judgment), you’d better move fast. Only 5,000 bars will be made, priced at $8 each, and they go on sale June 6th exclusively on Dr. Squatch’s website.
Let’s be real: they’re going to sell out almost instantly. People love novelty. They love hot celebrities. And they really love telling their friends about the weird stuff they bought online.
Final Thought: Get That Bag, Sydney
Personally? I don’t want it. I don’t need it. I won’t be buying it. But if Sydney Sweeney and Dr. Squatch want to cash in on some bathwater-fueled virality, I say: “Get your bag.”
If people are willing to pay for it, and it gets a few more guys to switch from body spray to actual soap, maybe it’s not such a bad thing after all.
